Berlinparade is a skating
demonstration through Berlin for avanced skaters. It has been created to
improve the skating situation in Germany and in Berlin itself. The skate event
takes place Friday night, sometimes on Sunday afternoon. Note: not every week,
please watch our internet pages or order the newsletter. The
meeting point is the car parking area Alexanderstrasse or the Wittenbergplatz.
About 1,000 up to 4000 skaters meet there for the demonstration.
The route changes
every time and the distance to skate is somewhere between 20 and 27
kilometers. It takes about two hours (15 minutes break included) to complete the
route. From time to time, beginners can join the 'Berlinparade Family' which
is a slower and more easy tour. The year 2000 and 2001 ended with a demonstration where
many skaters were dressed up for Christmas. |
